Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using SelfOS, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Eligibility

SelfOS is intended for users aged 13 and older. If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may use the app and make purchases only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for such purchases.

3. License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Use SelfOS for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Create and manage your tasks, goals, habits, and lists
• Access premium features with a valid subscription

4. Intellectual Property

The SelfOS application, including its code, design, artwork (including the Self-Care Tree bonsai art), name and branding, is owned by the developer and protected by intellectual property laws. Your license to use the app does not transfer any ownership rights. Content you create in the app remains yours.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

About Premium subscriptions:

• Subscriptions (SelfOS Premium) are billed through App Store or Google Play; payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase, or after the free trial ends
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the price of your plan
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
• Any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a subscription
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google per their policies
• Prices may vary by region and are subject to change
• The one-time "Lifetime" purchase unlocks Premium for the lifetime of the SelfOS application — that is, for as long as the app remains available and supported — and is not a guarantee of any specific period of availability

7. Your Content

Regarding data you create in the app:

• You retain ownership of all your data
• Your data is stored locally on your device
• We are not responsible for data loss - please use backup
• You are responsible for the content you create

8. Third-Party Nutrition Data

SelfOS uses the fatsecret Platform API as a third-party source of nutrition data (food names, brands, calories, nutrients and serving information). By using SelfOS, you also agree to fatsecret's Terms of Use, available at platform.fatsecret.com/api-terms-of-service.

Nutrition data is provided "as is" for personal tracking purposes. Actual values may vary by brand, region, recipe and preparation. SelfOS and its data providers make no warranties, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness or fitness for any particular purpose of nutrition data, and shall not be liable for any decisions made in reliance on it. SelfOS also uses Open Food Facts, a public collaborative database, as an additional nutrition source under the same "as is" basis.

9. Not Medical Advice

SelfOS is a personal tracking and planning tool. Nothing in the app — including nutrition information, calorie and macronutrient figures, sleep and activity statistics, or calculated goals — constitutes medical, dietary or other professional advice, and the app is not a medical device. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about your diet, exercise, sleep or health, especially if you have a medical condition. Do not use SelfOS as a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment.

10. Service Availability & Changes

SelfOS is developed and maintained by an independent developer. We may modify, suspend or discontinue any feature of the app — or the app as a whole — at any time. Some features depend on third-party services (such as the fatsecret Platform API, Open Food Facts, app stores and cloud infrastructure providers); if a third party changes or withdraws its service, the dependent features may change or stop working, and this shall not be considered a breach of these terms.

11. Disclaimer

SelfOS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we do not promise any particular outcome from using it — including changes in weight, habits, sleep, productivity or any other result. Use at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any decisions made in reliance on data shown in the app or any loss of data (please use the backup feature).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the developer of SelfOS and its third-party data providers (including fatsecret) from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your violation of these terms, your misuse of the app, or decisions you make in reliance on data shown in the app.

14. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, armed conflict, internet or power outages, or failures of third-party services.

15. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of your country of residence.

16. Severability & Entire Agreement

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app. Official notices may be sent to the contact email below.

17. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
